Curriculum

Conducts Early Education (Kindergarten) using the Montessori Method, Primary Education (elementary school) uses Cambridge and the Indonesian National Curriculum, Secondary Education (junior high school and high school) using Cambridge and the Indonesian National Curriculum. SDB offers ICAS (International Competition and Assessments for Schools) sponsored by the University of North South Wales, Australia.

Taman Kanak-Kanak

Pendidikan Montessori memberikan kesempatan kepada para siswa untuk mengembangkan potensi mereka untuk mempersiapkan mereka melangkah ke dunia luar, terlibat secara langsung, memiliki kemampuan yang baik, bertanggung jawab dan saling menghormati dengan pemahaman dan penghargaan bahwa belajar adalah untuk kehidupan.

Setiap anak dihargai sebagai individu yang unik.

Pendidikan Montessori memahami bahwa anak - anak belajar dengan cara yang berbeda dan memfasilitasi semua gaya belajar anak. Siswa diberi kebebasan belajar sesuai dengan tingkat pencapaian mereka masing - masing. Masing - masing siswa akan belajar berdasarkan kurikulum sesuai dengan tingkat pencapaian dan kesiapan mereka, dipandu oleh guru dengan perencanaan pembelajaran yang personal.

Dimulai pada usia dini, siswa Montessori mengembangkan keteraturan koordinasi, konsentrasi dan kemandirian.

Setting kelas, peralatan yang digunakan dalam kegiatan belajar dan rutinitas sehari - hari mendukung munculnya “Keteraturan Diri” (Kemampuan untuk mendidik individu dan berfikir tentang apa yang masing - masing mereka pelajari) di masa balita hingga remaja. 

Para siswa adalah bagian yang dekat dari komunitas yang saling peduli.

Siswa menikmati perannya sebagai mentor dan role model : Para siswa merasa didukung dan memperoleh kepercayaan diri dalam menghadapi tantangan. Guru menjadi role model bagi para siswa untuk dapat menghargai, mencintai dan berbuat baik serta mempunyai keyakinan dalam penyelesaian konflik secara damai.

Siswa Montessori memperoleh kebebasan dalam batasan tertentu.

Bekerja dalam parameter yang ditetapkan oleh para guru. Siswa berperan serta secara aktif dalam memutuskan apa yang ingin mereka pelajari. Para guru Montessori memahami bahwa kepuasan internal siswa akan mendorong rasa ingin tahu dan minat siswa dalam belajar dan akan berdampak terhadap hasil yang menggembirakan yang akan berpengaruh positif terhadap kehidupan mereka kelak.

Para siswa didukung untuk menjadi penemu yang aktif di dalam ilmu pengetahuan.

Para guru menyediakan lingkungan dimana siswa memiliki kebebasan untuk bereksplorasi dan untuk mencari jawaban atas pertanyaan mereka sendiri. 

Mengkoreksi diri dan memberikan penilaian terhadap diri sendiri merupakan bagian integral dari pendekatan kelas Montessori.

Pada saat para siswa siap, mereka belajar untuk melihat secara kritis pekerjaan mereka dan menjadi mahir dalam mengenali, mengkoreksi diri dan belajar dari kesalahan mereka sendiri. Dengan diberikannya kebebasan dan dukungan untuk bertanya, meneliti secara mendalam dan membuat koneksi. Siswa Montessori menjadi percaya diri, antusias dan menjadi pelajar yang mandiri. Mereka mampu berfikir secara kritis, bekerjasama dan berani bertindak  satu-set keterampilan untuk menghadapi abad ke 21.

Kindergarten

Montessori education offers our children opportunities to develop their potential as they step out into the world as engaged, competent, responsible, and respectful citizens with an understanding and appreciation that learning is for life.

Each child is valued as a unique individual.

Montessori education recognizes that children learn in different ways, and accommodates all learning styles. Students are also free to learn at their own pace, each advancing through the curriculum as he is ready, guided by the teacher and an individualized learning plan. 

Beginning at an early age, Montessori students develop order, coordination, concentration, and independence.

Classroom design, materials, and daily routines support the individual’s emerging “self-regulation” (ability to educate one’s self, and to think about what one is learning), toddlers through adolescents. 

Students are part of a close, caring community.

Students enjoy stature as mentors and role models; younger children feel supported and gain confidence about the challenges ahead. Teachers model respect, loving kindness, and a belief in peaceful conflict resolution. 

Montessori students enjoy freedom within limits.

Working within parameters set by their teachers, students are active participants in deciding what their focus of learning will be. Montessorians understand that internal satisfaction drives the child’s curiosity and interest and results in joyous learning that is sustainable over a lifetime. 

Students are supported in becoming active seekers of knowledge.

Teachers provide environments where students have the freedom and the tools to pursue answers to their own questions. 

Self-correction and self-assessment are an integral part of the Montessori classroom approach.

As they mature, students learn to look critically at their work, and become adept at recognizing, correcting, and learning from their errors. Given the freedom and support to question, to probe deeply, and to make connections, Montessori students become confident, enthusiastic, self-directed learners. They are able to think critically, work collaboratively, and act boldly—a skill set for the 21st century.
